Photo shoot during the pandemic? Safe? Not Safe? Here's my two cents on it!
A photo shoot during a lock down/pandemic? Well, it happened and it turned out just fine (with proper precautions and social distancing of course!)
I had a wonderful opportunity to shoot a very interesting project for Blend With Benefits for their social media launch campaign during the lock down. The brief was to create some aesthetic, colorful series of images of their newly launched cocktail premixes.
The campaign launch was successful and the images received tons of likes and comments. While a bunch of people being cooped up bored at home might partly be the reason for the success, you can’t deny the power of reaching the right person at the right time! And having a good visual presence always helps in engaging the audience. At the very least, at least you know your competitors won’t be using the same stock images!
If as a brand you are hesitant to begin photography assignments given the current situation, you are not the only one. But it is important to use this time to create new and engaging imagery/visuals. Since people are moving away from big, international brands and looking for local options, now is the time to impact purchase decisions like never before. If you are putting off a photography assignment, remember that it is doable, provided enough precautions are taken. Avoid overcrowding, ensure social distancing, wear masks at all times and keep a sanitizer handy.
